Andala Rakshasi is a triangular love story set in 90′s. Gowtham(Naveen) is a son of a billionaire business man and fall for Midhuna (Lavanya). Midhuna is already in love with Surya(Rahul) who is a painter. Things take a tragic turn Midhuna ends up on hospital bed. Gowtham and his father take care of Midhuna and make sure that she is fine. Midhuna finds it more trouble after coming out of danger. She cannot forget Surya and at the same time cant accept Gowtham’s love. Who will win Midhuna’s heart? Is it Gowtham or Surya ? Rest of the things should be watched on big screen.
Analysis :
The first half of ‘Andala Rakshasi’ goes flat with a romantic thread between Naveen and Lavanya. We get to know the intention of Naveen is to win Midhuna’s heart. Director Hanu has shot all the scenes between Naveen and Lavanya extremely well. Director haven’t given much importance to other characters and most of the first half revolves only between Naveen and Lavanya. Though the narration is dead slow, movie catches the momentum post interval and director tried to maintain the same tempo in the second half upto some extent.
Second half of the movie introduces us the character of Rahul. Director has well etched the characterization of Rahul and the actor’s chemistry with Lavanya was shot well. Though the scenes seems to be convincing, slow narration of the movie is the biggest minus for the film. Some scenes haven been dragged unnecessarily. Climax of the movie is very heavy. Technically, there is nothing negative about Andhala Rakshashi. Music, Background score and Photography are excellent.
Perspective :
Debut director Hanu Raghavapudi has come up with a triangular love story. Though the plot of the movie is not a new one, the way he executed the scenes are convincing. Especially the set where Rahul made a picture of Lavanya using Beer bottles is simply superb. The songs “Emito ivala rekkalochinattu” and “Vennante Untunna” have been picturised well. Director Hanu concentrated entire first half on Naveen and Lavanya’s episode.
Pace has been picked up in second half with the introduction of Rahul’s character. Rahul’s characterization has been well etched. Positive elements of the movie are the lead actors. All the three actors, Naveen, Rahul and Lavanya have given wonderful performances. Verdict of ‘Andala Rakshashi’ will entirely depend on audience because we haven’t seen much Telugu movies which have a tragic ending in the recent years.
Performances :
Naveen has got charm in his face. He looks are terrific and his dialogue delivery resembles to actor Siddarth is some scenes. Rahul has given a splendid performance and his body language seems to be apt for his character in the film. Lavanya has done brilliant job in terms of performance and she is looking very homely on screen. Rest of the cast has given decent performances in the limited roles which they have been given
Technicalities :
Director Hanu Raghavapudi has done a wonderful job. His hardwork has clearly reflected on the screens. Music and Background score by Radhan are terrific. Back ground score is the soul for this movie. Cinematography by Murali is excellent and editing by Chandrasekhar is adequate. Productions values of Vaarahi Chalana Chitram banner are good
