Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal came down heavily on YS Jaganmohan Reddy and his party men for targeting his brother Sridhar who had invested crores in Kadapa MP's companies and financially helped the YSR family.

He also made it clear that he was a successful businessman even before entering into politics and there is no need for him to amass wealth through illegal means. Stressing the need for stern action against the corrupt, the Vijayawada MP reiterated that Congress party has no connection with the financial irregularities committed by Jagan.

Responding to a question on why Congress kept mum on the Jagan's corruption when he was in the party, he replied 'the atrocities of Jagan hadn't come to light when his father YSR was alive'.
