It was not the franchise, nor the director but the much hyped debut of Sunny Leone that made Jism 2 one of the most-anticipated films in recent times. Unfortunately, the movie has drawn a mixed response from tradewallahs as well as the audience.  While the film took a phenomenal opening in some circuits, it failed to enthuse in others. The other release of the week, a Reliance Animations 3D animated film Krishna Aur Kans, flopped miserably at the box office.

In Mumbai, Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines says, “The opening was very good for Jism 2. The morning shows clocked 80-90 per cent occupancy, and I think the film will generate a very good response as the day progresses.”

In Delhi-UP, Sanjay Ghai of Mukta Arts adds, “In Delhi-UP, Jism 2 is already a hit. The morning shows were house full. With such an impressive opening, one expects super numbers from day one.”

In East Punjab, Surendra Saluja of Lakshya Movies says, “Jism 2 drew an outstanding opening in our region and it has outshone all the recent releases. A 100-per cent opening is very rare. All said and done the film is receiving poor word of mouth publicity.”

In West Bengal, Debashish Dey of Aum Moviez adds, “The film had an opening of 80 per cent in West Bengal and is doing well in both multiplexes and single-screens. Its first-day numbers are definitely going to be remarkable.”

In CP, Sarang Chandak of Shri Rang Films reveals that the film is running to full houses in single screens but occupancy is 50-60 per cent in multiplexes. “Everyone is eager to watch Sunny Leone. But, to be honest, it’s not a good film and collections will dip during the evening shows.”

It was an altogether different story in Mysore, where B H Basha of Bahar Enterprises says, “The opening forJism 2 was just 15 per cent. I doubt the movie will clock good numbers on its first day. This is a single-screen film but I can’t see any excitement among the masses.”
