CM Kiran blames Reliance

Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy blamed Reliance Industries for supplying just 38% gas to power plants in Andhra Pradesh and dictating terms to the governments. He promised to ensure 100% power all over the state if Reliance supplies at least 70 to 80 % gas to power plants.
Due to the huge gap between the demand and supply, AP is facing severe power crisis now. The govt. is forced to go for long power cuts all over the state. While farmers are getting just three to four hours of power supply instead of the 9-hour free power, domestic consumers in rural areas are facing 10 to 12 hour power cut and in urban areas it is from 5 to 6. The present crisis has hit industrial sector so badly, as the govt. has announced three days power holiday per week and three hours power cut at peak hours in the remaining four days.
As per the AP Transco, the demand is 11500 MW and the generation is 9150 MW, which means the overall shortage is 2350 MW. If the same situation continues, the people of AP will be facing more darker days in future.
