Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), the richest temple board in the country, is back in news for its extreme corruption.

After the Laddu scam, now the Board members have taken the corruption to the new level by by blocking hundreds of rooms and collecting more than double the actual cost from pilgrims in the black market for allotting them. TTD vigilance officials took the broker Srinivasulu, who booked 340 rooms, into their custody and questioning him. They were suspecting that reception department EO and Superintendent had a role in this scam.

Corruption is everywhere in the hill shrine. The brokers were coming into direct contact with the pilgrim and making a moolah. An AC room which will be allotted at a price Rs 1,500 is now being sold for Rs. 5,000 in the black market. TTD Barbers were collecting additional amount (nearly Rs. 100) from each pilgrim for tonsuring head. Laddus, TTD Books and Darshan tickets were sold in the black market.
